6-goals Brazil international highly likely to head back to Chelsea
Chelsea attacker Kenedy is unlikely to remain at Granada beyond the summer, in spite of his impressive performances for the club.
That is according to AS, who say the lack of a purchase option in Kenedy’s current loan deal makes a permanent move hard to get done.
Kenedy signed for Granada on loan from Chelsea in last year’s September, his fourth straight loan deal since signing for the Blues from Fluminense in 2015.
Unlike an unsuccessful stint at Getafe last year he has proven to be a big hit with Granada, establishing himself as an important player and managing six goals and four assists in 28 matches in all competitions this season.
That has made Kenedy one of the ‘winning bets’ for the Spanish side this season, with the Brazilian now an ‘indisputable piece’ of their jigsaw.
However, that doesn’t mean a permanent stay is likely. AS adds that his loan deal from the Blues expires in the summer and in spite of claims of an option to buy, there is no purchase option inserted.
Thus, the options for Kenedy to continue with El Grana, as of today at least, ‘are not high’, although the outlet doesn’t explain why that is the case.
The English giants’ asking price is too high at this moment in time, although perhaps they will be prepared to change that in the future if the club show they are keen to take the 25-year-old star off their hands permanently.
