Leicester and Chelsea to agree player’s deal? £50m defender sends huge transfer message to Chelsea, as Marseille star wants Chelsea move
Shock reports have claimed that Chelsea could make a shock summer transfer move for Kelechi Iheanacho if they cannot get a deal done for Erling Haaland.
Haaland is a player that has been talked about alot over the past few months as all the games biggest and best clubs are all reportedly eyeing up a summer transfer move to try and prise him away from Borussia Dortmund.
The Blues are almost certain to be on the lookout for a new attacking talisman to lead the line in advance of a renewed domestic title bid next season, with Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham all failing to score the amount of goals that Thomas Tuchel would like.
Both Manchester clubs are also in need of a striker and harbour a shared interest in signing Haaland, suggesting that Chelsea could lose out in the battle for his signature, and the Daily Express have claimed that the Blues could make a move for Iheanacho
Iheanacho has enjoyed an explosive rise to prominence since the turn of the year, displaying brilliant pace, a strong technical ability and a keen eye for goal to help Leicester reach the FA Cup final and close in on securing their top-four berth.
Questions were hanging over the Nigerian’s ability to perform at the highest level when he was deemed surplus to requirements by City, but he has proven his doubters wrong at the King Power Stadium and could benefit from another chance to establish himself at a ‘big six’ club
Iheanacho is certainly a player that has impressed this season and there is no doubt that he has shown great quality, but he is certainly not the player Chelsea need to score 30-goals a season.
He will never be that type of striker, yes he will be good, but he will not be a Haaland
Villareal defender Pau Torres continues to generate talk of interest from Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window
A product of Villarreal’s academy system has taken in 77 appearances for the Yellow Submarine and after establishing himself as a regular in that starting squad, his regular ole has been enjoyed across the last two seasons, allowing seven international caps to be claimed.
His performances for both Spain and Villareal has led to alot of speculation that Chelsea have joined the likes of Manchester City and United in the chase to try and get a transfer deal done, especially as the young man has a bright future in the game.
The 24-year-old Spain international is aware of the interest he is attracting, and rather than shy away from all the speculation, he has come out and announced that he does have a desire to represent an important club in the future.
Torres has told Sport: “Players who have gone through important clubs, when they talk about an experience they have had, I like to listen to them, both Paco Alcacer and Raul Albiol or Alberto Moreno.
“They tell you things that you have not yet experienced and that you think you would like to experience.”
Roundup…
There is no doubt that Torres is attracting all the right interest because of his performances and he is at that stage of his career that he needs to join a big club in order to take that next step in his career.
Torres would be a brilliant buy for Chelsea and the Premier League and that £50 million asking price is quite a low one for such a gifted player. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but if Chelsea fc could get him, he would be a brilliant signing for the club
