‘This is my second home’- Player opens up to sign lucrative deal with Chelsea
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has opened the possibility of signing a new long-term deal with the club.
The Dane struggled for game time during the first half of the season, but his fortunes have changed since the turn of the year.
Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as the manager in January, and Christensen has since revived his career.
He has been a regular at the heart of the defence, and he is now determined to stay with the Blues for the long-term.
He told Chelseafc.com: “There have not been any talks [on a contract extension] yet, but like I said, I’m in this for the long run.”
“I always have been. I feel like this is my second home. Denmark will always be my home, but Chelsea will always be my place.”
Christensen has only 14 months remaining on his Blues contract, which is the same as Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.
The west London giants are expected to open negotiations with all three players regarding new long-term deals.
