Guardiola’s final words after losing to Chelsea, as £78 million winger opens door for Blues to wrap up five-year deal

Pep Guardiola was expecting his team to beat Chelsea and become Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

However, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea had another plan as the Blues came from behind to win the game 2-1 and ensure that City’s champagne will be kept at least until their next game.

Guardiola has seen his side lose twice to Chelsea in the past two weeks, after the Blues beat them in the FA Cup semi-final and now in the Premier League.

The Man City manager has now maintained that he’d settle his score with Chelsea when the two teams meet in the Champions League final on May 29, but first, his attention has been turned to their next league game against Newcastle.

Guardiola said: “We are sad we lost, we wanted to close out the Premier League, but we have to be focused. Football is unpredictable and we have to focus on the game at Newcastle.

“In 21 days we are going to face Chelsea again in the Champions League final. We need to learn from this and before that try to win the three points to win the title.”

Chelsea target Jadon Sancho admits he cannot say for certain what the future holds for him ahead of the summer window.

Regarded as one of the finest talents in world football, Sancho has developed into a class act over in the Bundesliga over the past few seasons and he is now a player that is tipped to become one of the best in world football.

Sancho has long been a top transfer priority for the Blues, but Dortmund have been equally stubborn in holding on to one of their top young stars. Yet there are reports in the media which have claimed that Dortmund would allow him to leave in the summer for £78 million.

And amid all the speculation that Chelsea will try and make a move for Sancho in the summer window, he has now come out and opened the door to a possible deal by admitting that he does not know where his future is.

“I don’t know about my future,” the 21-year-old told ESPN on Saturday after netting twice in his side’s 3-2 defeat of RB Leipzig.

“I am very happy here in Dortmund at the moment. I love the club, the fans and the team.

“They gave me my first professional start. The fans motivate and push me to the limit.”

Roundup…

Sancho is a player that Chelsea like very much and they will surely be a club that make an official move for the man should he come onto that transfer market in the summer. So with the season coming to a close, it will be interesting to see where Sancho goes.

We would love to see him in the Premier League guys.
