Kai Havertz reveals his perfect Chelsea position , as Blues desperate to sign €120m-rated player.
Kai Havertz believes his current position at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel is the perfect position for him.
According to the German international, the position allows him be dangerous in the box and also have the ball a lot.
“To be honest, I don’t know!” Havertz told Chelsea’s official matchday programme ahead of Wednesday’s game against Arsenal.
“I play somewhere up front – number nine, number 10, something in between – to be honest, I don’t know 100 per cent.
“I just enjoy the position right now because I feel very good there. I have a lot of fast strikers next to me right now, so that’s very nice and I think it’s the perfect position for me. I can be dangerous in the box, I can have the ball a lot and that is what I like, so right now it’s very nice for me in this position.
“I think the first year wasn’t very easy for me but I think I’m getting better and better, getting more confidence.
“But, for me, the team effort was the most important thing this season, and that we get victories – that’s more important than my own personal things. But, of course, I always want to play my best and I’m getting better now, so it feels good.”
Chelsea are desperate to sign €120m-rated Premier League striker
Harry Kane is among the footballers London giants are currently looking at in their quest to strengthen the attacking options in the summer. The Tottenham Hotspur striker is joined by Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku in the list of centre-forwards who could be targeted by the club after the end of the campaign.
Blues, though, are aware of the fact that signing Harry could be a difficult ask due to the competitive nature of the PL that makes it almost impossible for star footballers to join their direct rivals. Yet, Kane has been consistently linked with a move to Man United, and the recent interest of Chelsea could add some exciting twist to his transfer saga this summer.
After all, England international’s future at Tottenham is looking uncertain now more than ever, as the Spurs brace themselves for no European action in the new campaign, should they continue to trail West Ham United, Liverpool and Chelsea in the league table.
The recent defeat to Man City in the final of the Carabao Cup makes things more difficult for Daniel Levy, as the striker is already frustrated over the club’s lack of titles.
It might just tempt him to seek a move to the London club, who are currently in the semi-final of the UCL, with every chance of reaching the final. Chelsea have improved a lot under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel, who will be keen on offloading his fringe attackers in the summer.
Olivier Giroud’s deal at Chelsea expires at the end of the campaign while Tammy Abraham has been linked with a move to West Ham United.
