£48m-rated player wants to play for Chelsea despite Barca offer, as Chelsea have ‘offered five’ players to land £51 million man

Latest Chelsea transfer news includes previous comments from Lyon and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay about his future as he plots his next move as a free agent

However, according to reports, Memphis Depay certainly put himself in the shop window with an impressive performance

Depay, who is out of contract at Lyon at the end of the month, would be a bargain signing for many clubs in Europe – including Chelsea who have been tipped to sign a new forward this summer.

And it just so happens that the former Manchester United forward previously named the Blues as one of the clubs he would like to play for.

“I want a new transfer to a top-level club this summer. Lyon is a big club but it’s not one of the five best in Europe,” Depay told Dutch magazine Helden back in January 2019. “I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.

“I want to go to a city that suits me and a club that suits me, to a team that really wants to play football.

“I always talk about Real Madrid, a royal club. White and gold shirts.”

As spotted by Catalan newspaper Sport, Barcelona have already listed Depay as an option to add to the back of the club’s shirt on their online shop.

That ‘hint’ would suggest a move to the La Liga giants is all but done.

Although should he change his mind, Chelsea have already been given encouragement to pursue a deal as the 27-year-old has been quite complimentary about the west London outfit.

Chelsea have ‘offered five’ players to land £51 million man

Chelsea have reportedly offered Inter Milan the choice of five players in a bid to land Achraf Hakimi.

Thomas Tuchel is a man that knows he needs to keep improving the side in the transfer window as he will need to add a bit more quality to the squad.

That has led to reports in the media that Chelsea are very interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for Hakimi, who is now regarded as one of the very best defenders in Seria A.

Hakimi helped Inter win the Seria A title this season, but the Italians are in debt and they must sell a number of players in the transfer window in order to balance the books, and Hakimi is a man that they will allow to leave

Chelsea are already believed to have made an initial offer worth €60million (£51.5m) plus a choice of Emerson Palmieri or Andreas Christensen, and According to Corriere dello Sport, the west London club have now offered three more players to try and tempt Inter into selling: Davide Zappacosta, Tammy Abraham and Kovacic.

The Croatian – who played for Inter before joining Real Madrid – is a real surprise given he has been a key player for Thomas Tuchel, with the coach frequently praising his midfielder.

Zappacosta, though, is surplus to requirements and Chelsea are desperate to offload him, while Abraham has fallen so far down the pecking order he did not even make the bench for the FA Cup and Champions League finals
