‘Forget Manchester United- Ferdinand reveals why £100m player will sign for Chelsea
Chelsea have been linked with Aston Villa star Jack Grealish in the past, but it’s unclear if Chelsea will make a move for the 25-year-old again.
Grealish has become a household name in England due to his stunning performance in the Premier League, and he could yet be on the move this summer.
Besides Chelsea, Manchester United are another club to have been linked with Grealish, but Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand doesn’t see the deal happening.
According to Rio, Grealish plays a position that’s fully occupied at United, with Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes holding the two positions where he can fit in.
“All day long man,” Rio Ferdinand responded when asked if he would like Grealish. “But I don’t even think (Bruno) Fernandes that’s the problem (for the move to happen). You’ve got Rashford and Pogba that are both playing on the left, which is where Jack plays.
“Jack’s best position is on the left, and the next best position you’d imagine would be number 10. They’re the positions where our most influential players in terms of attacking positions are, so I think it’s difficult to see him at Manchester United right now.
“Unless they ship one or two of the boys away, I see it as a difficult deal to be done.”
Figures between £80m and £100m have been mooted for Grealish, but it doesn’t seem like a move Thomas Tuchel will be very interested in at the moment.
