‘More take-ons than Sancho’ – Chelsea fans love what Antonio Rudiger did against Norwich (Image)
Following Chelsea 7-0 victory over Norwich City, Chelsea fans have been begging Antonio Rudiger to score after regularly trying his luck against Norwich City.
The Blues raced into a 3-0 lead against the Canaries at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as they returned to Premier League action following the 4-0 win against Malmo in the Champions League.
Academy graduates Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James all managed to find the net in what was a spectacular first-half for Thomas Tuchel ’s men against the relegation candidates.
Ben Chilwell added to the scoreline in the second half, before a Max Aarons own goal after good work from Hudson-Odoi made it 5-0.
Rudiger, making his return to a Chelsea Premier League lineup after missing out against Brentford last time out with a back injury, appeared to feel somewhat left-out having seen his teammates run riot at Stamford Bridge.
According to WhoScored, he had three shots throughout the opening 45 minutes – the most on the Chelsea team alongside opening goalscorer Mount. However, only one of them actually managed to find the target.
Throughout the first-half, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to express their hope for a potential Rudiger strike against the Canaries.
In 160 appearances for the club in all competitions, Rudiger has netted just eight goals – the most recent of which coming against Tottenham Hotspur last month.
Below the Blues fans will hope that he can add to his account before his future is definitively decided. Rudiger remains out of contract at the end of the season, with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain reported to be interested in his signature.
