Meet or avoid? four teams Chelsea could meet in the Champions round of 16 finally confirmed
Liverpool, Manchester City and even Manchester United finished top of their group, but Chelsea finished behind Juventus in group H.
However, Chelsea were the only Premier League team that didn’t finish top of their group in the Champions League group stages.
As a result of Chelsea’s second place finish, the Blues would not be seeded in next week’s draw for the first knockout round. Thomas Tuchel’s rotated side needed a win against Zenit to top the group but could only get a draw.
For the next round, Chelsea cannot be drawn against a fellow Premier League club at this stage of the competition but can face any of the European giants who finished top of their group except Juventus.
