Revealed: Why Premier League rejected Chelsea’s request to postponed Wolves game as Blues dropped points again

Chelsea continue to struggle as the Blues played a goalless draw against Wolves.

However, before the game, Chelsea requested to postpone the match, well, The Premier League have rejected Chelsea’s request to have Sunday’s game against Wolves postponed despite having seven players out due to Covid-19.

After a series of Covid tests at between 9am and 10am on Sunday morning, the Blues confirmed three further positive cases within their camp.

This is on top of the four positives that impacted their preparation to face Everton.

Chelsea have just six players on the bench with two goalkeepers for the game against Wolves following the Premier League’s refusal to postpone the game against Wolves.

A Chelsea spokesperson said: “We are deeply disappointed that our application was rejected, as we felt we had a strong case for the postponement of today‘s match on the grounds of players’ health and safety.”
