‘We love him, discussion goes on for coming days or weeks ’ — as Tuchel speaks on Ben Chilwell replacement
January transfer is on and the Blues will be looking to add some important players to the squad following recent injuries.
However, Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has been out injured since the 4-0 win over Juventus back in November.
Marcos Alonso is the only recognised player who can play as a left wing-back, and the Spaniard hasn’t been impressive in the role so far since Chilwell’s injury.
Chelsea have been linked with a January move for some players including loanees Emerson Palmieri and Ian Maatsen.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has now confirmed that the club is looking at recalling Emerson from loan.
“We are looking into it because we now have a new situation with Ben Chilwell so of course we look into whether we can do something and what we can do,” he said.
“One of the possibilities and the players we know and that we love as a person is Emerson but we need to check. We are not into details. We are discussing and reflecting and this will go on for the coming days, maybe weeks.”
