‘Sign him now, before he’s taken by City’- Blues fans send clear transfer message to Chelsea board

It’s expected that the club may attempt to prise Rice away from the Irons in the summer, though the fee will be substantial. David Moyes hinted earlier in the season that a fee in excess of £100million will be required.

However, Rice continues to impress week in, week out and during West Ham’s clash with Crystal Palace was no different.

Not every part of the fanbase has been convinced of the merit in signing the 22-year-old, but he may have turned a few more heads on Saturday evening.

Rice sat in his own half at Selhurst Park and found himself just enough space, away from Jordan Ayew, and put himself on the half-turn ready to receive the ball.

Driving forward was on his mind as the ball approached and it didn’t take him long to gallop forward and consume the space Palace had left him. He took advantage and drove to the Eagles’ box, delayed until Michail Antonio dragged away Marc Guehi and slotted the ball into Manuel Lanzini’s path.

The Argentinean ghosted into the box, beat Joachim Andersen and expertly finished, but it was Rice who had caught the attention of the Chelsea faithful once again.

Below are the Chelsea fans reaction on Twitter.
