“I will be sad, they are good players” – Timo Werner reveals he won’t be happy if these two Chelsea players leaves club
The contracts of both two Chelsea defenders Antonio Rudiger and Christensen expire at the end of the season and both defenders are yet to reach an agreement with the Blues over extending their contract.
However, Chelsea forward Timo Werner has claimed he would be disappointed to see Chelsea duo Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger leave the club.
Rudiger and Christensen can sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs and various reports have linked both players with top clubs across Europe.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus have reportedly talks with the agent of Rudiger over signing the Chelsea defender as a free agent while Barcelona have reportedly held talks with the agent of Christensen.
Timo Werner told Sky Germany: “I’m not involved in the negotiations of these two players. I would be happy with both if they stayed here because they are very, very good defenders.”
“You would give them away with a heavy heart if they left.”
Furthermore, Werner has admitted he’s surprised by the love shown to him by Chelsea fans despite the chances he misses.
He said: “Sometimes, I don’t know why they [Chelsea Fans] are supporting me so much, because I’m a striker and I want to score but miss chances.
“It makes it so fun to play in front of the Chelsea fans & when they give the support they give me, it makes me stronger when I miss chances or have hard times.
“I try to give my best every game, 100% to make sure the team are happy.”
