However, The FA set to open investigation after Tottenham fans pelt Antonio Rudiger with lighters in Chelsea defeat
The Tottenham fans did not behave well at the away end at Stamford Bridge as their team could not turn the game into some kind of a contest.
Close to the end of the 2-0 defeat, Spurs fans were spotted to be throwing lighters at Chelsea defenders Antonio Rudiger.
The FA will launch a series of investigations as it is not an isolated incident even within this weekend.
“I just heard about this some minutes ago. I was not aware of this during the match,” Thomas Tuchel said after the game, as per The Telegraph.
“I thought there was something going on against his direct opponent. It was during a corner or a free-kick I think.”
In 2019, Rudiger complained about the racist abuse he suffered from the Tottenham fans during an away game. He later said that ‘racism has won’ after no Spurs supporter was punished.
