“Chelsea is part of his dreams” – as Chelsea interested in signing 22 year old attacker who dreams of playing for Chelsea
The Blues are yet to make any January signings and the transfer window set to be closed on Monday.
However, according to ESPN, Chelsea have expressed interest in signing Lille attacker Jonathan David.
The 22 year old attacker has scored 15 goals this season, 12 in 22 league games and 3 goals in 6 Champions League games.
London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also reportedly expressed interest in signing the Lille attacker.
It is understood that Lille would prefer to wait until the end of the season before selling one of their prized assets. However, any late movement this month could spark a ‘bidding war’ for his signature.
Chelsea are however leading the race to sign the Canadian forward as he dreams of playing for Chelsea.
David’s agent explained in 2020 that Stamford Bridge is one of the dream destinations where his client would love to play:
“He has been a childhood fan of Barcelona. Real Madrid, Man United and Chelsea are just as much part of his dreams, but for the time being we must remain humble,” he said, as quoted by The Daily Mail in February 2020.
