Revealed: What Tuchel told the Chelsea players on ‘phone-calls’ at half-time against Al Hilal
Following Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Al-Hilal, it was claimed that Chelsea boss was in contact with the Blues during the match.
However, The Blues will face Palmeiras for a shot at the Club World Cup title after beating Al-Hilal 1-0 in a hard-fought semi-final.
Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark and Kai Havertz – Chelsea’s hero in the Champions League final – came close to doubling the Blues’ lead in the 48th minute, only to be denied by the post.
The Blues dominated the Asian champions in the first-half but lost control in the second-half, a scenario Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel probably forsaw following his half-time talk to the players.
Meanwhile, Chelsea first-team coach Zsolt Low finally revealed what Tuchel told the players at half-time:
Low said: “First of all we talked to Thomas at half-time and had a good conversation.
“He had the same feeling that we were a little nervous and had a lot of easy ball losses. We talked about telling the guys to calm down, find the rhythm and not fight so hard for hard solutions. We had a good conversation.”
