How Chelsea overcome distraction as Blues beats Norwich City 3-1

The game against Norwich City was to be an easy one, but in reality, it was a difficult game amid the noise surrounding the club.

However, Chelsea started the game in a bright form as Trevoh Chalobah scored from a corner inside the first 3 minutes.

Well, Mason Mount doubled Chelsea’s lead with a stunning strike on the 14th minute. Chelsea had many chances to extend the lead in the first half, but the Blues missed some chances.

The Canaries came out stronger in the second-half and Teemu Pukki scored from the spot in the 69th minute following a hand ball from Chalobah in the penalty box.

However, in-form Kai Havertz was at hand to score the third goal for Chelsea and ease the tension on the 90 minute mark.

With all the negative drama around the club, this win was a very important one for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC have released a statement claiming that the club will work with the government to work things around.

A club statement released this afternoon reads: “Chelsea Football Club has been advised that its owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK Government.

“By virtue of his 100 per cent ownership of Chelsea FC plc and affiliated entities, Chelsea FC would normally be subject to the same sanctions regime as Mr Abramovich. However, the UK Government has issued a general licence that permits Chelsea FC to continue certain activities.

“We will fulfil our men’s and women’s team fixtures today against Norwich and West Ham, respectively, and intend to engage in discussions with the UK Government regarding the scope of the licence. This will include seeking permission for the licence to be amended in order to allow the Club to operate as normal as possible. We will also be seeking guidance from the UK Government on the impact of these measures on the Chelsea Foundation and its important work in our communities.

“The Club will update further when it is appropriate to do so.”
