‘Why I couldn’t sleep after 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid’ – Tuchel reveals as Chelsea demolish Southampton 6-0
It was a great respond from the Blues after a back to back defeat as the Blues demolish Southampton 6-0 after crazy 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid.
However, before Southampton clash, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed he was in a bad state after watching his team suffer a heavy 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The loss to Madrid followed an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Brentford, and Tuchel was livid after seeing his team produce another shambolic performance.
According to Thomas Tuchel, he watched the game multiple times before he could think of sleep, as he tried to understand the cause of the defeat and the solution.
The Chelsea boss said: “I watched it when I got home and in the middle of the night. The next morning, I watched it here [at Cobham] and got angry again.”
“I sat there in the middle of the night and the amount of chocolate I needed was immense so that I could go through the match again! It is not nice, and you start writing and you realise you are writing more and more minutes.
“We have a certain way of explaining things, so you don’t forget it. But at some point you fast forward and you watch it in double speed so that it passes quicker. At some point you have to stop and take a walk through the kitchen and living room and come back and calm down.
“It is good to watch it back because it makes you process it and then it makes you clearly understand what your message should be.”
Well, it was a great comeback from the boys ahead of Champions league second leg against Real Madrid as the Blues trash Southampton 6-0
