Tuchel finally secretly reveals who to blame for Chelsea heavy 4-2 defeat to Arsenal
Lots of Chelsea fans were confident that Chelsea will surely beats Arsenal, but that confidence dropped immediately after the line-up was released.
However, from defence to attack, it all seemed like there was a lack of cohesion. Andreas Christensen had been in poor form, Malang Sarr has been rusty and of course Reece James is better as a right wing-back. The trio of James, Christensen and Sarr had never played together before in a back three, and using them in a London derby was just suicidal.
In midfield, the combination of N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek never looked like working. Kante’s form had dropped of late, and he’d have surely needed a more experienced player in the middle of the park, or rather still, the gaffer would have gone for Jorginho and Loftus-Cheek in the absence of Mateo Kovacic.
The attack seemed okay, but then Lukaku is yet to get back to his best.
According to The Independent, Tuchel ‘mostly blamed himself’ for the 4-2 defeat his side suffered at Stamford Bridge.
The report claims Tuchel took responsibility in private for Chelsea’s terrible performance against Arsenal on Wednesday.
Tuchel also admitted in his press conference after the Arsenal game that he’d take a share of the blame.
He said: “Second half was nowhere good enough,”
“They changed their tactics three times, we changed, but also I include myself not on the highest level.”
