€100m Chelsea target breaks silence on a possible summer move to Chelsea
Declan Rice, a former Chelsea youth product and current West Ham hero, has stated that he will not leave the London Stadium despite the club’s interest in signing him.
The Englishmen broke their silence about his high appreciation from the English heavyweights when West Ham succumbed to Eintracht Frankfurt in two legs of the semi-finals yesterday night.
The 23-year-old was a big reason why David Moyes’ team came so close to making European history, but it was Aaron Cresswell’s rash judgment at the penultimate hurdle that sent the east Londoners packing.
West Ham must return to reality after a fairytale run if they are to secure their European status domestically with a strong end to the 2021/22 Premier League season.
After the dismal outcome, he stated in his post-match interview that “he will be back” in a West Ham shirt next season.
Despite frequent rumors connecting him to Chelsea and Manchester United, senior figures at the club are set about keeping the England international for at least another season, according to the Daily Mail.
Manchester City, the Premier League winners, has also put the excellent midfielder on the transfer list in recent months, according to reports in Manchester.
Given Chelsea’s present ownership and buyer’s position, Rice’s return to Stamford Bridge was doubtful.
The two-time European champions are also interested in Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni, who will be available for a much smaller sum and is likely a better fit for Tuchel than Rice.
Given the calibre of players already in the squad, a 100 million pound move for Declan Rice from the Hammers appears to be pretty implausible.
