Revealed: When Chelsea takeover will be announced
The Chelsea ownership takeover has been a real saga, but a purchase of this magnitude was always going to be a long process.
However, when you look at it, it was done really quickly because it had to be. Chelsea is still unable to sell tickets for their final game of the season at Stamford Bridge due to the government’s ridiculous fines.
Todd Boehly and his consortium have been announced as the new owners, but the government has yet to sign off on the deal. But, according to top ownership insider Ben Jacobs, it could happen anytime between now and the middle of next week.
He also claims that an announcement should not be made in the wee hours of the morning, as the previous one was!
Chelsea are confident of confirming the Clearlake-Boehly takeover by the middle of next week. Todd Boehly will also hold further talks with Thomas Tuchel and Emma Hayes as plans continue for the summer.

Important to note, even if everything went smoothly, to get from purchase agreement to formal sale (inc. transfer of funds) in a matter of weeks is very quick. #CFC sale may be seen as chaotic (it’s certainly been dramatic). But to get it done before May 31 is pretty incredible.
