Revealed: How much Chelsea will get after Real Madrid’s Champions League victory
Real Madrid who beat Chelsea in the quarter-final, went on to beat Manchester City in the semi-final and then Liverpool in the final.
However, Chelsea may no longer be Champions of Europe after losing the crown to Real Madrid, but the Blues are £20m richer.
Chelsea would however be smiling to the bank as Eden Hazard joined the Los Blancos in the Champions League success.
Hazard moved to Real Madrid in 2019 in a deal worth an initial £88.5m
The deal had several add-ons that could take the full price to more than £130m.
Chelsea had recouped nearly £20m when Hazard helped Real Madrid win La Liga and qualify for the Champions League in 2020, and following Madrid’s Champions League success, another £20m will be credited to Chelsea’s account.
Many would argue that Hazard barely kicked a ball this season, but a clause is clause.
