Board told to complete transfer deal for £150m valued midfielder Tuchel wants at Chelsea
According to reports, Declan Rice, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, has received a clear transfer message from West Ham.
Rice has been in the news a lot in the last year because there is ongoing media speculation that all of the top clubs are interested in a potential trade.
As a result, the Hammers have placed a whopping £150 million price tag on Declan Rice’s head, and the player himself has intimated that he is delighted to stay with the London club this summer.
United, Chelsea, and Man City are among the clubs interested in a prospective trade, and with reports that Thomas Tuchel is interested in a move, former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson feels the Hammers should cash in and sell their captain for a large sum of money while they still can.
“Yes absolutely,” Johnson responded when asked by BettingOdds if they should cash in sooner rather than later.
“It’s not good business to let players walk out for free or run their contract down. It doesn’t make any sense. West Ham have to be ruthless with him and say ‘here’s the contract, either sign it and if you don’t want to sign it then you’ve got to go’.
“You can’t let your best players leave on either a discount or a free.
“If West Ham don’t believe he’s going to commit himself long-term then they’ve got to get rid of him.”
