“He’s now a new Chelsea player + four year deal signed” – Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea second summer signing
According to the defender Kalidou Koulibaly, he is now a new member of the Chelsea team.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert who has consistently been on top of this story, recently tweeted that the deal was finalized and that Chelsea would soon make the announcement. Nobody knows when that will be, either.
Romano, though, is fully aware of the deal’s specifics and what a coup this signing is for Chelsea.
As you can see from the contract below, Koulibaly has a 4-year option to extend his deal with Chelsea by one more year. The cost is 40 million euros, or just about £34 million.
The athlete has finished his physical and is currently traveling to Los Angeles to begin the preseason tour with the rest of his new teammates.
The arrival of a new, elite player who will be a significant upgrade at the back should delight Blues supporters.
