BREAKING: Chelsea set to play these two games in two days..see why
On their tour of America, Chelsea has so far played three preseason matches.
However, The Blues have played Premier League opponents Arsenal, Club America, and Charlotte FC.
Friday’s encounter against Udinese will be our final preseason game, but Thomas Tuchel has stated that Chelsea may need to play another game to get everyone match-fit.
In a videotape captured by Chelsea TV below, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel announced that his club will face Udinese twice.
Both games will be broadcast live on Friday, with one likely taking place behind closed doors.
Players that entered as substitutes in the first game might start the second, and vice versa. The Friday game will include more of a “first team” appearance.
Chelsea lost 4-0 against Arsenal in their final preseason match, under the coaching of Tuchel.
After that game, the German was very dissatisfied.
“I am far from relaxed,” Tuchel said after Chelsea’s heavy defeat to Arsenal.
“We were simply not good enough. We were simply not competitive.
“The worrying part is that the level of commitment physically and mentally for this match was far higher for Arsenal than for us.”
