‘He’s unhappy at Chelsea’ – Rio Ferdinand finally reveals why Tuchel is not happy at Chelsea
Chelsea began the campaign by defeating Everton 1-0 away at Goodison Park.
However, despite a less than stellar showing, the Blues managed to prevail.
Now, Rio Ferdinand, a former player for Manchester United, asserted that Thomas Tuchel doesn’t appear content with the situation at Chelsea since he hasn’t yet acquired all of his transfer signings.
Ferdinand told Vibe with FIVE: “They seem out of sorts, the comments from the manager, he’s not happy, he doesn’t seem happy with the way the recruitment has gone.”
“Not been able to get the players in, a lot of players want to get out.
“Chelsea didn’t look like a team that was running fluid [against Everton]. They looked a little bit all over the place. You could see the frustration after, he wasn’t happy with the way that they played.
“It’s the environment at the training ground. There’s a lot of players who want to leave, they’ve been very open about that they don’t want to be there. [Timo] Werner’s going to Leipzig, [Marcos] Alonso’s going to Barcelona.”
Meanwhile, contrary to what Ferdinand has said, Thomas Tuchel has hinted that he’d need more signings, but will push his current squad if he doesn’t get his targets.
When asked about further signings before the end of the window after Chelsea’s win over Everton, Tuchel told Sky Sports: “Yeah, if we can add, we add.
“Maybe not necessarily a midfielder as a first option but we’re open for everything.
“I think we can use new energy, new legs and fresh input to bring us to a new level.
“If not, then we will push this team but I think we could use some more input and some more quality. We’re on it but we will not tell you [who].”
