Confirmed: Chelsea star rules out of International duty after latest injury update
Due to an injury, Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy withdrew from the Senegal national team’s roster for their forthcoming matches.
Head coach Aliou Cissé has announced that Mendy, who had initially joined the team, has since left it.
However, Mendy sustained a knee injury when they played West Ham.
Kepa Arrizabalaga was in goal for the game against RB Salzburg, and reports claim Mendy is working hard to return to action for Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace on October 1.
Graham Potter had said of Mendy: “Edouard will miss the game [against Salzburg].”
He added: “With Mendy, it’s a knee problem. It’s responded well to treatment and it doesn’t look like it will be too long [before he’s back] but at the moment he’s not available.”
