9 AC Milan key players to miss Champions League clash against Chelsea
The Blues will play host to Italian champions AC Milan in a Champions League group stage game on Wednesday night.
The game is a massive one for Chelsea who sit bottom of Group E, with just a point from two games.
Meanwhile, the Italian side will be without nine players when they face Chelsea on Wednesday.
Milan are said to be in a ‘crisis’, with Football Italia reporting that the Rossoneri could have just 14-15 senior outfield players for the clash.
Simon Kjaer has an issue with his thigh and Alexis Saelemaekers has a sprained knee. Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Theo Hernandez, Junior Messias, Divock Origi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all injured.
To compound their woes, Davide Calabria was stretched off against Empoli on Saturday with a suspected hamstring strain which could see him out until the new year.
Chelsea meanwhile have an almost full squad, and the Blues were granted a huge boost ahead of the game with N’Golo Kante returning to training and Marc Cucurella set to be available again after missing the weekend clash through illness.
Chelsea and AC Milan do not have much history of facing each other. They last met in the Champions League in 1999. The two teams played out a draw in both legs.
