‘A lifetime ban! as Club promise lifetime ban to fans for homophobic chants on Chelsea player

According to latest reports, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher was the target of homophobic chanting during Crystal Palace 2-1 win over Milwall in an FA Cup third round clash on Saturday.

However, Gallagher featured in that game and also got an assist, but the Chelsea loanee had to endure homophobic chanting.

Millwall have confirmed they will launch an investigation into the chanting, threatening those responsible with an immediate lifetime ban.

“Millwall Football Club has a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of discrimination and will investigate any incident of alleged abuse accordingly,” a statement by the club read.

“As is club policy, any individual found guilty of discriminatory abuse is issued with an immediate lifetime ban.”

ITV were forced to apologise after their microphones picked up homophobic chanting from Millwall fans aimed at the Chelsea loanee.

The foul language was clearly audible on on ITV’s coverage of the game, and ITV commentator Clive Tyldesley had to issue an apology.

“We’d like to apologise if our effects microphone picked up some obscene language there a moment or two ago,” Tyldesley said.

“Again, we must apologise for any foul language that has been picked up,” Tyldesley later added after more chanting was heard.
