‘A mad player Chelsea can rely on & he can bang’ – Rio Ferdinand says of Chelsea star
After two back to back defeats in a row, Chelsea finally got back to winning ways against Southampton with a 6-0 win.
Before this, we had seen them go through every match during March winning them all. Against Southampton, they were back to their absolute best, and there was a few players on that pitch really driving it.
A couple of players have been dipping in and out of form a little in recent months for Chelsea, but this has been a rather collective thing for the whole team.
However, Mason Mount has become a talisman for the team and he is consistently one of the first names on the team sheet for Thomas Tuchel.
Despite weird criticism from some small sections of the online Chelsea fanbase, everyone in football continues to rate Mount highly, just like Tuchel does, just like Gareth Southgate does, and just like Rio Ferdinand does, amongst many MANY others in the game.
Ferdinand said as reported by The Chelsea Chronicle: “Mount is a mad player, “On and off the ball, that’s what I love about him. He gives you both sides of the game.
“Young players watching the game, if you watch Mount, he’s efficient with it, and he can bang, but it’s the work ethic and the positions he takes up defensively. That’s why he’ll always play for England because I think you can rely on him.”
