“A priority target” – Tuchel tells Roman Abramovich to sign €100m-rated Bundesliga player
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has urged Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to sign Bayer Leverkusen gem Florian Wirtz. This is according to media outlet El Nacional.
Report claims Tuchel considers the 18 year old attacking midfielder as a a “priority” transfer target.
Bayer Leverkusen reportedly value Wirtz at around €100million (£85.4m), which is higher than the £75.8million Chelsea paid Bayer Leverkusen to sign Kai Havertz last year.
Despite being just 18, Wirtz has become an important player for Bayer Leverkusen. He has already had seven goals and seven assists from 13 appearances in the Bundesliga and the Europa League this term.
Chelsea aren’t the only club interested in a deal for the 18 year old attacker as Real Madrid are reportedly also closely following the teenager. Having already missed out on Havertz, Real Madrid hope to beat Chelsea to the signing of the 18 year old.
Barcelona are also interested in signing the teenager but are not in a good financial position to compete with Chelsea and Real Madrid.
