“Abramovich believes we have a 90% chance of completing the deal” – Billionaire man upset after failing to submit bid for Chelsea
Turkish billionaire Muhsin Bayrak won’t be the new owner of Chelsea, despite recently claiming he’s closing in on a takeover of Chelsea.
However, Bayrak, who had previously expressed an interest in the club, said late on Friday that his company AB Group Holding had not filed a bid, according to BBC.
Bayrak attributed AB Group’s failure to meet the deadline to a misunderstanding with his lawyers over the auction procedure, telling news agency Reuters that he was “very upset” by the situation.
Bayrak’s failure to submit a bid comes as a surprise after claiming that he is making progress in the negotiations.
He said early this month: “We have reached a certain stage. Our law and finance department will start talks with theirs in London on Thursday.
“That’s the way it is at this point. On Thursday, we will notify the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
“People are talking about it, we made some progress in the talks, and the world believes we have a 90% chance of completing the deal. Abramovich thinks the same.”
