Meanwhile, Former Manchester United boss sir Alex Ferguson has backed Cristiano Ronaldo to win the award this year due to the records he broke.
Speaking to the media about the upcoming Ballon d’Or ceremony, Sir Alex Ferguson said:
“Cristiano Ronaldo deserves it. This year, he has broken record after record.”
Ronaldo recently broke the record for most international goals and also scored his 10th international hat-trick in Portugal’s 5-0 win over Luxembourg, which is also a record by any player, but it may not be enough for him to win the award.
