Chelsea could reportedly attempt to secure the services of Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico during the summer transfer window.

The West London club are expected to be in the market for a new left-sided full-back ahead of the 2020-21 season due to the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso.

Leicester City’s full-back Ben Chilwell has been heavily linked with a move to the West London club, however, according to Calciomercato, the Argentine international defender has now emerged as a potential transfer target.

The Argentina defender, who has a contract with Dutch giants, Ajax until the summer of 2022, has found back of the net five times and provided seven assists in 38 games at club level during the 2019-20 season.

The 27-year-old defender has helped Erik ten Hag’s team win a league and cup double last campaign, in addition to playing a vital role in their run to the semi-finals, run in the Champions League. Manchester City have previously rumoured with interest in the South American.
