Chelsea have qualified for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 as Group E winners
In a report, Evening Standard have listed out all the possible opponents that Chelsea can face in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 which takes place in February 2021.
Chelsea qualified for the knockout stages in as early as matchday 4, and further sealed their spot as Group E winners when they beat Sevilla 4-0 on matchday 5.
Chelsea fielded a weaker team against Russian side Krasnodar in a Champions League dead rubber on Wednesday but finished the group unbeaten after a 1-1 draw on the night.
Manager Frank Lampard was a player in the Chelsea side which won the UEFA Champions League final in 2012 for the first time in the club’s history.
With an outlay of over £200m in the summer, owner Roman Abramovich would expect Lampard to take this Chelsea side all the way to the final this season.
The Blues will now be looking forward to the UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw that takes place in Nyon, Switzerland, on December 14th.
While Frank Lampard’s men were placed in a comparatively easier group, the knockout rounds may not be so kind to them.
Chelsea have qualified as one of the 8 seeded times due to winning their group. We will not face Sevilla in the round of 16 as they were in the same group as us but can face any of the following 7 teams who finished runners-up in their respective groups.
