Almost Done: as Chelsea set to offer fresh contract to £290,000 a-week midfielder

The Blues are close to officially have a new owner.

However, the incoming new Todd Bohely as confirm he will solve some Chelsea players contract issue once the takeover is finalize.

Now, according to reports, Chelsea are reportedly interested in tying French midfielder N’Golo Kante down to a fresh contract.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano states that the former Leicester City man, along with academy graduate Mason Mount, are two Blues stars the club are poised to keep at Stamford Bridge.

It has been reported renewing their deals will be a priority under new owners and once sanctions are lifted.

The 31-year-old is a special player in the team that’s still viewed as one of the very best midfield players around. His current contract is due to run out in June 2023, though.

If boss Thomas Tuchel wants Kante to remain as a key player moving forward, it appears imperative that a renewal is sorted as soon as possible.

The German recently said it is a joy to coach N’Golo, so it seems a no-brainer to secure the World Cup winner long-term future.

Some may signal the fact that a few injury woes have started to creep into Kante’s game and that N’Golo may not always be the same box-to-box midfielder who dominates opponents.

However, he has shown enough individual showings during the course of this campaign to prove he is far from finished yet.
