‘Always fighting for the badge! Why Rudiger screamed at Kante during Real Madrid clash finally revealed

I just can’t get enough of Chelsea defender Antonion Rudiger, what a great player for Chelsea.

Rudiger showed why he must be the next captain for Chelsea after putting another outstanding performance at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League second leg against Real Madrid.

Well, the German show so much passion in this game and also scored his first Champions League goal in this tournament.

However, Halfway through the second half, shortly after Alonso’s goal was ruled out, Real Madrid had a fine attack that saw many forwards sprinting towards Chelsea’s goal. With the attack heading to Edouard Mendy’s goal, Rudiger launched a last-ditch sliding tackle to claim the ball in what was a spectacular defensive showing.

Well, Rudiger wasn’t happy with the gap in midfield and quickly directed his frustration in the direction of N’Golo Kante and other midfielders for leaving the backline exposed.

Kante had a good first-half but his energy level dropped in the second-half and his mistake caused the team in extra time.

Speaking after the game, Rudiger explained the reason for his anger was the mistakes made by his team that saw Real Madrid claw back into the game.

Rudiger said: “The Champions League is difficult because you play against the best in Europe and if you make little mistakes they punish you.

“Over the two legs we did too many mistakes, too many individual errors, that made them go through, and of course their quality with Modric and Benzema.

“There are regrets, especially the first game, because we didn’t have the energy like in Madrid. Obviously over the two legs we made too many mistakes and at this high level of football you get punished.

“It was do or die for us in the second match. I think before the game nobody thought we would get it to 3-0, but then their individual class comes to light with Modric and Benzema. They have a fantastic squad and they are clinical. As I said, over the two legs, if you do these kind of mistakes you get punished.”
