Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes is one of the players to have been linked with a move to Chelsea as Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on strengthening his defence during the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian has admitted that he’s pleased to be linked with top clubs like Chelsea, although he doesn’t want to get carried away with the rumours.
“I follow the news, but I try to stay away. I always tell my agents that, at this moment, I want to know as little as possible so as not to lose focus on the pitch,” he told Brazilian media outlet UOL.
“I’m happy to see my name being linked with great teams. It shows that the work I’ve done so far has been good. I also see many fans of the two teams commenting on my posts on Instagram. It is starting to get funny.
“We have to be calm with all this. It’s early, and I’ve renewed my agreement with Lille until 2023. The focus now is to go back to play and end the season at a high level, to help Lille qualify for the 2020/21 Champions League.”
The 22-year-old’s valuation currently stands at €45 million, and one could wonder if such valuation would hold sway after the coronavirus outbreak.
