Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed what Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich told him after he was sacked by the club in 2011 despite leading Chelsea to a second place finish in the Premier League.
The Italian had led Chelsea to a Premier League and FA Cup double in his first season at the club but was sacked twelve months after.
Ancelotti, now manager of Everton, has revealed Chelsea owner Abramovich didn’t say a word to him after he was sacked by the club.
“I think it will be an emotional moment for me,” said Ancelotti, ahead of Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Everton on Sunday.
“I have a fantastic memory of the period that I was there, it was really two unbelievable years. I’m really excited to come back.
“I didn’t speak to (Abramovich) after I was sacked. I still have a good relationship with him, he was very kind the times I went back to watch Chelsea games and so I have to say thanks.
“He gave to me a great opportunity to be the manager of one of the top teams in England.”
