Andre Onana has hinted that his Ajax career is over after sending a message that appears to say farewell to supporters.

The Cameroon international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both reportedly interested in signing the 24-year-old.

Current Chelsea number one Kepa Arrizabalaga has endured a difficult second season in English football, and was dropped earlier in the campaign for Willy Caballero after a string of poor performances.

This has led to speculation that Blues boss Frank Lampard could look to sign a replacement for the Spaniard, with Onana touted as a long-term solution.

And the Ajax star has seemingly opened the door to a summer exit, after taking to social media in the aftermath of the Eredivisie season being cancelled.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, all football has been suspended across Europe and the Dutch top flight confirmed on Friday that the rest of the season has been scrapped with Ajax not being awarded the title despite sitting top of the league.

And Onana posted a picture of Ajax’s Johan Cruijff ArenA on Instagram, with the caption: “The journey ends with an empty stadium but full of pride and satisfaction.
