Announcement imminent as Italian tells Chelsea fans five-year deal to be agreed
Andreas Christensen is edging towards a free contract move to Barcelona, with reports suggesting that he has decided that he wants to leave Chelsea
Chelsea are in the media for all sorts of reasons over the past few days, as Roman Abramovic has put the club up for sale after 19 years of winning trophies and turning the club into one of the very best in the game
But that has not stopped the speculation about the type of players that will be coming to Chelsea in the summer transfer window, and leaving the club either on free deals or being sold as the club may look to revamp.
Christensen is yet to agree a new deal with Chelsea, despite holding talks with the club for months and the defender admits he’s in a ‘difficult situation’ at Stamford Bridge, as he does not get the game time that he has desired.
With the Danish defender running his contract down towards free agency, it has been clamed in recent weeks that Barcelona have been very keen to get a transfer deal done for the talented defender.
Now, he looks to be heading to Spain, according to Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who tweeted: “Barcelona are working to complete Andreas Christensen deal on a five year contract, new contacts expected this week. Verbal agreement almost ready – but nothing signed yet.
“Barça still ‘careful’ after what happened with Wijnaldum deal last year – work in progress.”
