Antonio Conte set to sign Chelsea striker In January after winning lukaku heart to Inter

Chelsea former coach Antonio Conte reportedly considering a January swoop for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

The France international has only started one Premier League match this season with Tammy Abraham emerging as the club’s first choice in the final third of the field.

Giroud recently admitted that he was unhappy with his current role with the Blues, which has led to talk of a possible winter exit.

According to Calciomercato, Inter are considering a move for Giroud when the January transfer window opens for business in order to provide competition for Romelu Lukaku in the final third of the field.

The 32-year-old, who will see his current deal expire at the end of the campaign, struck 13 times in 45 appearances for Chelsea during the 2018-19 campaign.

Inter would technically be able to agree a pre-contract with Giroud in January with a view to a summer move, although the Italian side would have to agree a transfer fee with Chelsea if they wished to sign the Frenchman before the end of the season.

Olivier Giroud is not the only Chelsea star who is linked with a potential departure. It is believed that the Blues former duo Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are keen to see N’Golo Kante at Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have been monitoring the French midfielder ever since his historic season with Leicester City.
