Arsenal told to sign former Chelsea coach to avoid relegation after 2-0 defeat to Chelsea

Former Tottenham striker and England international Darren Bent has been a lifelong supporter of Arsenal, but the former Spurs man has admitted his fears at Arsenal’s decline over the years.

Bent has urged Arsenal to sign former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, but he’s as well worried whether the Italian will be interested in managing the club.

“It’s tough to watch,” Bent told talkSPORT when asked about the situation at Arsenal.

“The performance against Brentford was poor, they were bullied. It wasn’t good to watch and I felt sorry for Ben White.

“If we want to get back to the good times, you sack Mikel Arteta and bring in someone like Antonio Conte.

“They are spending a lot of money on new players and we seem to be going backwards. With Conte it’s a different kettle of fish.

“If they can get Conte, you get him. But would Antonio Conte come? I don’t know. If they’ve got an inkling that they can get Conte, sack Arteta.”

Chelsea defeated Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, and Mikel Arteta’s men are yet to get a point or even score a goal this season.
