Barcelona set to hijack Chelsea move for Paris Saint-Germain playmaker
According to a report, Chelsea face stiff competition from Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain promising midfielder Kays Ruiz-Atil.
The 18-year-old wonderkid was handed his senior PSG debut earlier this campaign by Thomas Tuchel, who is now in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Ruiz-Atil has yet to feature under new boss Mauricio Pochettino and has been tipped to reunite with German tactician at the end of the current campaign.
However, Spanish outlet AS reports that the 18-year-old playmaker would prefer to make a return to La Liga giants, Barcelona, where he spent six years in their famed La Masia academy before making switch to PSG back in 2015.
Both teams are believed to engage in talks with Ruiz-Atil in the coming weeks, with his deal at the Parc des Princes set to run out in June.
However, AC Milan and Juventus are keeping tabs on the situation of Hakim Ziyech at London club. The Serie A pair could launch a move for the Blues attacker in the summer transfer window if he continues to fall down the pecking order at the London club.
Morocco international joined the Blues from Ajax last summer, arriving at London club following a fruitful and productive four-year stint with the Dutch giants. Ajax’s Player of the Year for each of the last three campaigns, the expectations were unsurprisingly high from Hakim when he joined Chelsea.
Rossoneri are in a precarious situation over the future of Hakan Calhanoglu, who is currently in the final few months of his current deal with the Serie A leaders.
While Milan are confident that Turkey international will pen a renewal, Hakim’s addition could still be a well-advised decision, considering Brahim Diaz is not a certainty to join the club permanently in the summer.
