Barcelona forward, Philippe Coutinho have said yes to join Premier League giants, Chelsea this summer in a bid to put an end to his nightmare at Camp Nou – although both clubs are yet to reach an agreement on his fees.
According to reports in Spain, the LaLiga champions are hoping to churn out as much as €90m from whoever buys Coutinho, but Chelsea according to Sport, are only hoping to spend in the region of €70m.
If Barcelona succeeds in making the Blues pay more than they hope to for the Brazilian, it would beat Chelsea’s £71.5m record-signing, Kepa Arrizabalaga, who joined up from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
Although Coutinho is currently on loan at German side, Bayern Munich, the Bavarians are not considering signing him at the end of the season due to Coutinho’s high-cost option to buy.
With the no-move from Bayern, top Premier League sides such as Arsenal and Manchester United showed interest, but it is now certain, the attacking midfielder might end up with Frank Lampard’s side instead.
Although Spanish reports have suggested Coutinho has given a green-light to the deal, the only issue hindering the star’s return to England is that Barcelona and Chelsea are yet to find common ground on the fee, most suitable.
