Big debate: Lampard gives hint of the striker that will start against West Ham between Batshuayi and Giroud

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham had to be taken off on a stretcher at the Mestalla Stadium during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Valencia on Wednesday.

The 22 year old was in agony after an awkward collision with Valencia’s Ezequiel Garay.

The big debate is now who should start between Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud. Batshuayi has been Frank Lampard’s second choice striker, while Giroud has barely played this season and is keen on leaving Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Blues boss Frank Lampard has hinted that it’s Batshuayi who might get the nod to face the Hammers.

Lampard told the media: “A work ethic, a quality. It’s not easy when you’re not playing so many minutes as you want. With Tammy’s form, it’s meant he’s played a lot, but that can obviously change now Tammy has his injury.

“I’ve seen a great work ethic, and a persistence in how he works and a consistency, and his quality.”

Tammy Abraham has revealed that he won’t be out for long, but Lampard revealed that his scan will be available this weekend to know how long he’d be out.
