Big news from City as £300,000-a-week star tells Chelsea he may leave club after UCL defeat

Chelsea have been left on alert after Aymeric Laporte admitted he cannot guarantee that he will be sticking around at Manchester City following Champions league defeat to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old was expected to strike up a formidable partnership with Ruben Dias at the Etihad Stadium, but that role has gone to John Stones. as the pair have helped City win the Carabao Cup and The Premier League.

However, City lost to Chelsea in the Champions league final would left some players to leave the club after lack of playing time.

Laporte admits that life as a back-up option is not that appealing and it may be that he has to push for a move elsewhere in the summer transfer window, which will alert the likes of Chelsea, who are looking for a new defender and have been linked with Laporte for some time.

Quizzed on his future by The Independent, having previously stated his happiness at City back in February, the France-born defender said: “When you asked me that in this period I was playing more I think or maybe less but I don’t know, the situation is very different now. I will not say nothing here, it’s something personal.”

Roundup…

Look, Laporte is a player that shouldn’t be sitting on the bench every week and should think about leaving as that partnership of Stones and Dias is world class.

Chelsea will keep a very close eye and may think they have a chance to get some sort of deal done, but will also know that City will not want to sell to a rival that will really push them next season, especially if they have a player like Laporte at the back.

This is big news and will surely alert alot of clubs around Europe.
