Blues board ‘getting regular updates’ about possible world class Chelsea deal in January as target on the move

Chelsea are getting ‘regular updates’ on David Alaba’s contract situation, it has been claimed.

Since making his first-team debut under Louis van Gaal in 2010, Alaba has gone on to make almost 400 appearances for the club in all competitions, and in that time, he has won nine Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokals and the Champions League.

However, it is no secret in the media that Alaba is not happy with the contract offer that has been offered by Bayern, and there has been many reports in the media which have suggested that he could be leaving the side on a free transfer.

Chelsea are interested in a potential deal for Alaba, according to reports, as Frank Lampard knows that he needs to keep adding world class players to his Chelsea squad in order to be challenging for all the major trophies.

Now, Eurosport report on the Blues being kept in the loop with the player’s representatives said to be expecting a chunky fee for the move.

However, Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently insisted that the door is still open for Alaba to stay at the club.

HITC quote Herr Rummenigge as telling Sky Germany: “David Alaba has been with FC Bayern for over twelve years, he has been an important player over the years.

“He has won an incredible number of titles with us, has been two triple winners with us.

“It is important to that you put the quality of the player and also of the people in the right light. “

“If David wants to stay at Bayern, which I am not ruling out entirely, the door is still ajar.

“Then you have to think about finding a way that is easy on the face for both parties.”

Alaba is a brilliant player that would suit the Premier League, but can Chelsea fans see a move happening?
