‘Blues could have a new signing to unveil at Stamford Bridge on Sunday’ – Romano confirms

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are dreaming of being able to unveil Moises Caicedo as a new signing at Stamford Bridge this Sunday.

He took to YouTube to state that this week is going to be really important in the Blues’ pursuit of the Ecuador international.

Discussions regarding the signing of Caicedo seem to have dragged on for months now, with the player more than keen on the move to Stamford Bridge.

However, Brighton have stuck to their guns when it comes to the valuation of the midfielder, and this has made things difficult for the Blues.

Despite this, Romano has claimed that they are still hoping that the player will officially be theirs before the end of the week.

He said: “Chelsea and Brighton are in direct contact. I keep saying: relax, calma. It’s always been Chelsea. This remains the case. Conversations are ongoing. It’s going to be a really important week.”

Chelsea dreaming of Caicedo by Sunday

“Chelsea have a dream internally to have Caicedo at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. On the pitch, or maybe off the pitch, presenting the player to the fans.

“To have the player at the opening Premier League game is the big dream of the club. They will try in the next days to make his dream a reality.”

Their attempts to sign a midfielder took another twist last night when it was widely reported that they had submitted the current highest bid for Southampton starlet Romeo Lavia.

It remains to be seen how Liverpool will react to the news, or if the Championship side will even accept the offer made by the Blues at this stage.

At this stage, their interest in the teenager is thought to not end their want to sign Caicedo.
