Blues to hijack £45million Man Utd top target as Tuchel close to seal deal
According to The Athletic, Chelsea are reportedly ready to hijack Manchester United’s move for Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
The ball-playing defender has a release clause in the region of £45million in his contract and is reportedly open to joining a Premier League club this summer.
The report claims Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is yet to decide if he needs to sign a defender this summer.
Should he wish to do so, Chelsea look set to try and hijack United’s proposed move for Torres.
Torres is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in La Liga and Villarreal are reportedly open to potential player-plus-cash offers.
